Kazakhstan showcases transparency and commitment to international standards at OECD session in Paris

Kazakhstan’s delegation highlighted the nation’s key achievements at the 164th session of the OECD Working Party on Export Credits and Guarantees held in Paris.

This platform allowed Baiterek Holding and Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (KazakhExport) to present ongoing economic reforms, strategic initiatives, and progress in implementing OECD recommendations.

During his address, Timur Onzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, emphasized KazakhExport’s attainment of official Export Credit Agency status, aligning with OECD standards. He noted the agency’s readiness to collaborate with leading global ECAs to foster export-oriented industries and bolster international partnerships.

“Kazakhstan has made notable advancements in enhancing its export potential and aligning with international standards. We focus on building robust, sustainable export support mechanisms to strengthen global economic connections. Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan is already implementing concrete measures toward these goals,” stated Timur Onzhanov.

Key topics of discussion during the session included alternative energy, rare earth metal mining and processing, and Kazakhstan’s expanding logistics potential.

The presentation enhanced Kazakhstan’s image on the international stage, underlining its commitment to improving its standing in global rankings. Such initiatives pave the way for potential revisions to Kazakhstan’s OECD country rating, fostering greater foreign investor confidence, creating opportunities for joint ventures, and improving conditions for attracting project financing.
